MYSTORY
I'm Sam, a 12yr old boy from Cambridge, UK. My mum passed away in 2022, and this has changed my life forever. This site, and my social media will aim to show people how I have dealt with that adversity, with my Dad, as we build a new future, and create some amazing new memories.
I am autistic, or have autism, whichever you prefer, with Pathalogical Demand Avoidance (PDA). Whilst this has defined a lot of my past, in particular my education, it does not define me as a person, I am still who I am, just with some pretty amazing super powers!
Through my early years (4-7) I struggled with anxiety, had regular panic attacks and as a result did not spend much time socialising, learning, or indeed even in the classroom. I moved from mainstream school into "Special Needs Education", where I stayed until the end of 2022, aged 11. I am now being Home Educated.
Come and talk to me about Pokemon, Godzilla, dinosaurs, nature or evolution and we can chat all day!
I struggled with my weight growing up, and was eating too much sugary food, this has all changed now though, and have managed to lose 3 stone to get myself healthy again.
For now the site will be managed by my dad, however more content will come from me in the future as we start to create new stories.
MYMUM
My Mum was Rachel, she was 47 years young, and the person that helped me the most when it came to dealing with who I was and how I was a little different to other kids. She passed away in 2022, having gone for an operation on her hip, and never came home, she had a cardiac arrest after the surgery. I never got to properly say goodbye.
She was my greatest cheerleader, and the one that helped me above anyone else, to take control of myself and my emotions, and start to learn about who I was.
My mum is no longer with me, but she will always be in my thoughts with so many amazing memories, and be a guiding light for me as I develop through my life.
MYFUTURE
As I move forward, with my Dad, life will be very different, and also quite an adventure.
I have come out of the education system, my Dad has closed his business and we are planning some new adventures together.
In the past my dad worked a lot in his business and I didn't get to see much of him, now we are getting to know each other much better and we are really close for the first time.
I have helped my dad to design a new motorhome, that he is now building, and we will start to travel to many parts of the world.
We will be blogging, posting and podcasting our way around the world, including a trip to Tokyo to the home of Godzilla and Pokemon!
